100 in 2010: Progress Four!

As you might have noticed, 2010 has ended...

But I slacked off a little on getting my list updated! I have in fact done many of the things on the list, so I figured this post could start to sum up the things that I did manage to get done before this year began.

I did complete #1, buy board shorts. Not really complicated, but let me tell you, Old Navy had some really cute ones!

I finished #3, make an entire dinner on my own! I borrowed Jordan's delicious recipe and made it for my family. It was so good. (Have you seen her Community video?) (I'm shameless.)

Knocked out #7 though I actually started spending money more responsibly this semester, not last year. I canceled my meal plan ($1690 per semester!) and I've been tracking my spending and saving receipts. It's actually quite satisfying.

I'll leave it at that for now. Don't want to overwhelm anything!
Any lists of your own to complete?

100 in 2010: Progress Three!

Here we are again with a check-in on the list! I feel like I'm starting to run out of time -- it's almost September already and I've got a lot more left to do on my list! In any case, here's what I've accomplished since my last progress report!

I can now check #3 off my list, the amiable "bake a layer cake"! Though my layer cake was quite small, it was a true layer cake and tasted wonderful! Here's a photo as proof:

The especially fun #29 is done. After going to Intervarsity's Chapter Camp at the beginning of the summer, I can happily say I have quite a few new friends to my name, and some really great ones to boot! This one seemed a little frivolous, but it's easy to only hang out with a few friends and never talk to other people and I wanted to be sure I didn't do that. Done!

I think I can say that #34 is finished as well, in our outreach to the campus, I was just getting out there and talking to people: asking them if they needed or wanted our help moving in, and talking to them about God. It was a really cool experience!

Jordan L and I kicked off our 21st year with a bang, fulfilling #52 with a Masquerade Party! Though it was in some ways a birthday party, I'll count it as a theme-for-no-reason party, since it was between our two birthdays. Here's a bit of our decor!

Incidentally, I have knocked out #62 while helping freshman move in last week! Asking random families and students if they wanted my help moving their student into their first dorm room would definitely fill the "help a stranger" box. Not to mention being a ton of fun!

Not too bad right? I've still got a lot to do, but it feels good to check a few off. Any goals fulfilled in your neck of the woods?

Catch up here:
Progress One and Two

(P.S. Boop... This post is coming to you robotically! Since it's the first week of school, I wrote a couple posts early, so that just in case I was too busy, you would still have something to read! ...Beep.)

100 in 2010: Progress One!

Hello hello!

Isn't it always the week after spring break that your teachers give out double the homework? That's how it was for me. But I have gotten some things accomplished on my list! Not huge things (a lot of the items on the list will have to wait for summer) but certainly things on the list!

Firstly: #61 - I recorded a new voicemail message! This one seems silly, but after someone told me I sounded like a 12 year old on my recording, I thought that maybe the time had come. I would like to record a goofy message, but since my boss occasionally calls, I don't want to get myself in trouble there! So it's newer, and hopefully I don't sound like I'm 12.

Secondly: #22 - I made a "Thank you" note! I recently collected money for a project that Intervarsity put on, and I needed some thank you notes. So I figured, I'll do my own! They came out pretty cute, but I may revamp them - so we'll call this one "in progress."

Thirdly: #6 - Read 26 books; 1 down, 25 to go! John D'agata, an acclaimed non-fiction writer, came and did a reading at my school, which I was required to attend. Luckily, he was a great writer and a pretty entertaining guy. I ended up purchasing his most recent book, About A Mountain. It was actually very interesting, and not at all what I usually read. But I definitely enjoyed it.

That's all I've done so far since I posted the list, completion-wise.
How was your first week back? Crazy? Windy?
