Meet Me

Curious about who exactly is behind these long and sometimes cheeky blog posts?

Well, hello! It's nice to meet you. I'm Stephanie. In this the twenty-second year of my life, I am keen on finishing up my Bachelor's degree in English and having the most fun I can while doing it. I love writing and reading (recently, I've loved In Dubious Battle, About A Mountain and I just re-read the Hunger Games series) and I think becoming an author would be thrilling and wonderful. But I'm a talker, too, and ENFJ who likes changing my hair, and loves people and dancing and big noisy get-togethers. I live with three awesome roommates, and we like to have breakfast for dinner and watch Community.

I'm not just a bookworm though. I love working with my hands. My favorite medium is fabric -- I love to just throw and idea together and sew it up, and giving my work to people as gifts is super fulfilling. However, I also crochet, draw, do papercutting, bake and anything else that piques my interest. My plans to open up my own Etsy shop are nearly complete, and I can't wait to share it!

Understanding the world and the people around me is important, if not essential, and I spend a lot of time thinking about how to love, serve and interact with people in the best way possible. I rely on my faith as a Christian to give me direction, and I know God is doing miraculous things in my life everyday. God's love for me is the reason that I see the beauty in the people around me, and that I want them to live lives free from pain or hunger, and full of love and joy. In the next year, I'll be moving overseas, and it's going to be the biggest adventure and biggest act of obedience in my life. I can't wait.

For me, blogging isn't just an exercise in self-awareness, though it has its merits as a journal or diary. Blogging is a way to change the world. Whether it is through words that spur people to care about their neighbors, or through a tutorial of how to make a tu-tu for your baby, or a recipe for a delicious meal, or a photo that stirs something deep inside you -- the things you read, listen to and talk about are the things that will make changes. So let's get out there!

Think you know enough about me? How about some fun ways to keep up, eh?
